Conservancy & Wildlife
The Chartwell Conservancy is one of our estate’s greatest treasures – home to open spaces, beautiful highveld flora, and free-roaming wildlife. Living here means we enjoy a lifestyle that is both peaceful and uniquely close to nature.
Conservancies are voluntary, community-based conservation initiatives, they play a vital role in preserving local biodiversity, encouraging sustainable living, and protecting ecological infrastructure. Chartwell’s Conservancy is no exception.
Our Conservancy
In recognition of the conservation value of our local environment, the Chartwell Conservancy was formally registered with the Gauteng Conservancy and Stewardship Association in 2015, with registration number: GCA 045.
The Boundaries of the Conservancy include all of Chartwell Country Estates, bordered by Cedar Road, the Klein Jukskei River between Third
Road and First Road, and including riverfront properties in Farmall, with the southern boundary along First Road, and the eastern boundary being made up of Blenheim road and Cedar Road.
Chartwell is home to exceptional natural features — from stretches of the Klein Jukskei River and its wetlands to clusters of indigenous Highveld bush and trees. These habitats support a rich variety of wildlife and bird species, making our area truly special. They are sensitive and valuable — and their care is a shared responsibility that falls to all of us.
